What was lost, was now found

Mary Grace Bito, a College Student of the Leyte Normal University discovered that her laptop was missing 45 minutes after going to the College Building’s Ladies’ Comfort Room. Her late discovery gave her very little chance of recovering the laptop. She went back to the said Comfort Room only to find out it was no longer there in the sink, Mary Grace felt sad.

The hopeful Mary Grace hurriedly went to the Security Guard on duty to report her missing laptop and ask for assistance. Security Guards Luciano A. Dagoy and Yobie Paculba received a report of a lost Acer laptop with bag at approximately 9 AM last April 30, 2019 from College Student Mary Grace Bito. Mr. Dagoy advised Ms. Bito to report the loss of the said item to Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana’s Office. Since Dr. Montallana was having an Exit Clearance Conference with DBM & COA during that time, being his Admin Assistant, I immediately responded to the teary-eyed Mary Grace who was with her two friends. I escorted them to the CCTV in-charge, Mr. Armon D. Llose for assistance and to the Security Guard on duty to have the said incident recorded in the Security Guard Log Book.

I gave advise to Mary Grace and her friends to watch all passersby near the College Building for leads.

After probing the identity of the Janitor on Duty, I requested the Security Guards on Duty, Mr. Dagoy & Ms. Paculba to ask the assigned Janitor for leads. The Janitor on Duty was no other than Mr. Julius Franz O. Daga. He discovered the laptop just a few minutes after it was left behind on the Ladies Comfort Room sink by Mary Grace. Julius immediately turned over the said laptop to Dr. Evelyn B. Aguirre’s Office.

Mary Grace was able to claim her missing laptop at Dr. Aguirre’s Office around 10:30AM after hearing the news that it was found by Mr. Daga that day. I immediately informed Dr. Montallana about this great story of heroism in the campus.

Mr. Julius Franz O. Daga, deserves recognition for his great deed! Dr. Aguirre, Mary Grace’s friends, the Security Guards and myself are happy for being a part of this great story of heroism in the Leyte Normal University. Heroes are everywhere.

Start being a hero anytime, anywhere! Praise to all the unsung heroes as well as the would -be heroes of LNU!
