LNU Beefs Up Fire Disaster Readiness

Aimed to enhance safety and readiness among the university community, Leyte Normal University (LNU) ramped up its efforts in fire disaster preparedness and worked with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Tacloban City for an educational session on fire safety and a fire drill on April 23, 2024.

Organized by LNU’s Office of Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Pollution Control (DRRM/PC), headed by its Director, Professor Jose Ismael Salamia, together with representatives from the BFP SFO1 Rowena C. Bulawan and SFO2 Cres Ian P. Cajipo, the activity covered crucial fire safety procedures, enabling its participants to gain knowledge to safeguard themselves and others during fire emergencies.

During the ceremony, LNU showcased traditional Singaporean costumes, emphasizing cultural diversity and solidarity within the ASEAN community.

This year’s ASEAN Month Celebration is themed “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience,” with Lao People’s Democratic Republic serving as the Chair.
