LNU Sustains Commitment to LangLit Education through ELLTA Seminar-Workshop


In an effort to enhance the quality of English language and literature education, Leyte Normal University’s BSEd-English and Bachelor of Arts in English Language (BAEL) Programs spearhead a two-day in-person seminar-workshop entitled “English Language and Literature Teaching and Assessment (ELLTA) in the 21st Century with MATATAG Curriculum updates,” last November 24-25, 2023, at the LNU Campus.

Plenary speakers headlining the seminar were Dr. Mardy Verano, the Executive Director and Lead Coach of Edustudio Learning Review and Training Services; Dr. Angelo Lenard Yu, a faculty member of the University of Southeastern Philippines; and Prof. Robertgie Piañar, a faculty member of LNU BSED English Department. The seminar also featured parallel sessions led by faculty members of the said organizing departments.

Themed “Perspectives and Practices in Contemporary English Language and Literature Teaching,” the seminar-workshop was attended by educators from various state universities, colleges, and Department of Education secondary schools. It aimed to facilitate meaningful exchanges, equipping participants with practical knowledge to enhance their teaching methods and assessments in English Language and Literature across various competencies.
