LNU Holds a 3-day Writeshop for Refining Research Proposals


LNU educators and researchers convened for a 3-Day Writeshop on Proposal Development for External Funding, spearheaded by Dr. Lina G. Fabian, Vice President of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Extension (ORIE); together with Dr. Myra A. Abayon, Director of the Center for Teacher Education, Research, Technology, and Innovation (CTERTI); and Dr. Jonas P. Villas, Executive Director of ORI, from March 13-15, 2024 at the LNU Ballroom Hall.

Dr. Brian S. Bantugan, Research Director of St. Paul’s University Manila, served as the resource speaker, sharing his experiences in research endeavors and emphasizing the crucial role of strategic thinking and teamwork in crafting compelling proposals. He points out that research encompasses more than just gathering data. He underscored the importance of using the collected data to create pragmatic and efficient solutions.

The session continued into the second day as Dr. Bantugan critiqued proposals and offered constructive feedback. This was followed by one-on-one consultations aimed at enhancing participants’ research quality and competitiveness. On the final day, teams presented their research proposals, showcasing their applied insights and refined approaches.

This event served as a platform for researchers to refine their proposals, preparing them for submission to the National Research Council of the Philippines, ensuring their readiness for evaluation and potential funding.
