LNU Teams Up with Kolor Banwa for National Arts Month Celebration


Aiming to provide Normalistas opportunities to showcase their creative and artistic side, the university’s Supreme Student Council (SSC) together with the Leyte Normal University (LNU) Institutional Performing Arts and Kolor Banwa, a group of local artists and painters in the region, organized the “SALIN-UROG: A Story to tell Through Contemporary Arts” with a theme “Ani ng Sining, Bunga ng Galing” in honor of National Arts Month held at HRDC on February 22, 2023.

In her speech, Dr. Evelyn Aguirre, LNU President, reiterated that the university ensures to cultivate the talents and skills of Normalistas through the expressions of various forms of art and exposure to various types of culture.

“Quality education not only comes in the form of excellent performance on academic subjects, but it also comes in the form of exposure of students to a vibrant, well-rounded education that teaches them various skills and hones their talents,” she said.

The event was participated in by students from the Integrated Laboratory School (ILS) Senior High, College of Education (COE), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Management and Entrepreneurship (CME), especially the students enrolled in the art appreciation course.

It also aimed to promote a sense of pride in their creative works while highlighting the importance of the arts.
